Sam Saul is a Senior Consultant with ARES Group and a real estate professional with 41 years’ experience in retail and restaurant operations as well as real estate development.
Sam brings to ARES his vast knowledge and understanding of the entire development and operational process, from mastering new real estate markets and choosing sites, working with developers and asset managers, directly managing the architecture, permitting, and construction phases, to facilities, operations, and asset management.
Sam was the Director of Development and Real Estate for Chipotle Restaurants for the western U.S. for 17 years. Sam managed all people, process, and aspects of the real estate, design, and construction departments for the western U.S. and was responsible for opening 700 restaurants, many years opening 100 per year, both nationwide and internationally. Prior to joining Chipotle, Sam held real estate manager and director roles with Blockbuster Entertainment and Clothestime where he helped both chains open over 100 stores during his tenure. Sam started his career as a salesperson for Burroughs Technology Corporation, and was awarded top salesperson in his second year. He then moved into restaurant operations where he rapidly ascended from restaurant manager to Vice President of Operations.
Sam has many years of experience in asset management and negotiating amendments. At Clothestime, he designed and implemented the asset management department, completing over 100 lease restructure and renewals per year. At Chipotle, he trained asset managers, recommended courses of action for renewals, and reviewed and approved all Western US and Canada asset management negotiations.
Sam graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance.
