Mark Hoffmann

Mark is a key member of the ARES Alternative Solutions Consulting Team and has extensive experience in corporate restructuring to enhance profitability, including work with lenders, landlords, and investment banks. Mark’s careful consideration of the legal, financial and investment implications for the landlord have made him a successful strategist and negotiator for ARES. He has intimate knowledge of the needs and objectives of private equity holders as well as M&A experience.

 
Initially a corporate attorney at IC Industries, Mark entered the field of corporate real estate while at PepsiCo Inc. He developed an expertise in corporate strategy and turnarounds as senior corporate officer at both KinderCare Learning Centers and Movie Gallery, Inc. where he executed successful turnarounds and obtained buyout offers for both companies. He subsequently served as a partner with a national development firm, LFI, where he was responsible for locating and developing nine shopping centers totaling 400,000 sf.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Chicago with a degree in economics. He also holds a J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law and has studied at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Mark is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
